Our Collaborative Research Drives Positive Change

Turning Resilience Research into Community Action

The Resilient305 Collaborative (R305C) is a partnership between academia, community, and government that creates interdisciplinary climate resilience research to support collective action across Miami-Dade County.

Our Purpose

We came together to advance community resilience in Greater Miami & the Beaches (GM&B) by addressing challenges such as climate change, sea level rise, affordable housing, and public health through community-engaged research.

Resilience Research

We research the ways climate change impacts quality of life for Miami-Dade residents. By combining community priorities with scientific understanding, our innovative Resilience Research process produces actionable data for informing community strategies and public policy.

Collaborators

Our core team includes contributors from Florida International University, University of Miami, Miami Dade College, Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, City of Miami Beach, The CLEO Institute, Catalyst Miami, Miami Waterkeeper, and The Miami Foundation.

Leadership

Our Resilience Research and collaborative networks are run by Directors from the University of Miami and Florida International University.

An Experimental Approach to Understanding Resilience

The Miami Resilience Meter is a first-of-its-kind dashboard that presents 35 holistic metrics to understand resilience across the region. By aggregating data from both public and internal sources, the Miami Resilience Meter empowers residents, community organizations, businesses, and public officials to better understand resilience in their neighborhoods.

Baselines are shifting. What is measured can be improved through community-centered action.
